AN EXPERIENCED PROFESSIONAL FOR
INSURANCE COMMISSIONER
VISION &
PRIORITIES
Washington is facing emerging challenges to the regulation and enforcement of insurance policies and that deserves a candidate with expert knowledge of the industry.
01
ACCESS TO
COVERAGE
The people of Washington, especially those with pre-existing conditions or living in underserved areas, struggle to find affordable and adequate insurance coverage.
02
RISING
PREMIUMS
Individuals and businesses are experiencing significant increases in insurance premiums, making it difficult to afford necessary coverage.
03
LACK OF
TRANSPARENCY
Increased complexity in how insurance rates are set and in the ways claims are processed, are leaving consumers feeling uncertain about if they are getting what they are paying for.
MEET
JOHN PESTINGER
John Pestinger, an experienced common sense insurance professional, who stands up to powerful industry interests as an advocate for insurance consumers. He loves insurance, and spent the last 24 years working exclusively in insurance. He knows the profound impact and effect insurance has on our lives. Insurance touches our lives before we are born, every single day of our lives, and even after we die. The people of Washington deserve quality and affordable health insurance.
John worked to protect consumers from receiving surprise medical bills for emergency services. John works tirelessly to make sure that choice in healthcare remains with the consumer and their doctors. Increasing access to affordable medical care and life saving medicine is a top priority. We are all seeing insurance rates skyrocket.
John knows what it takes to stabilize the market and bring rates down. Increasing climate change catastrophes, supply chain woes, increases in frequency and severity of losses, and legislative and regulatory uncertainty are causing your rates to climb. The job of the insurance commissioner is to regulate a healthy insurance market, not to allow competing political agendas to destabilize it. The people of Washington deserve better. John is asking for your vote.
Our Vision
John believes that insurance should be available and affordable for all. The purpose of insurance is to pool risk or share the risk. This helps communities. Insurance payments put money directly into the community. Finding the right balance between protection from the unexpected and affordability is key to regulating a healthy insurance market.
John is the only candidate with both insurance experience and regulatory experience. The Insurance Commissioner needs to ensure that the political polarization of the legislature does not disrupt the industry resulting in increased costs for all consumers.

It is my pleasure to endorse John Pestinger for Washington Commissioner of Insurance. John is an experienced insurance professional who understands the impact and importance of insurance both as an insurance professional and as a consumer. He has a commonsense approach when it comes to understanding how the quality and affordability of insurance impacts everyone, especially given the financial issues this country is facing. John will bring honesty and transparency to the Office of Insurance. He will help to bridge the disconnect between consumers and the insurance industry without undermining those he works with or abusing the privileges the position holds.
John will not be influenced by special interests or pander to the elite. He will always do what is right, even if he is doing it alone, because he understands the importance of saying what you will do and doing what you will say. We are in a time where the trust in government at a local and federal level is plummeting; and we need people like John to be the voice of reason, to always bring integrity to the table, and to serve those that are putting their trust in his abilities.
I fully support and endorse John and I hope you will too!

He values diversity in all aspects, is down to earth, and cares about connecting with others on their level. Like myself, John is a military veteran who chose to continue serving in public office.

I've known John since high school. I can picture him back then with long, curly hair sitting at my parents' kitchen table. He was one of those friends who was always kind, genuine and funny - consistently. Since we've reconnected in our professional lives, I see the same John, as always. These are the qualities we want in anyone holding office.

I have had the opportunity to work with John while he served as the Chair for Veterans Employee Resource Group. His leadership traits consist of his strong self-awareness, communication skills, and confidence. He takes great pride in his work and remain steadfast in what he stands for as a person. I believe if given the opportunity for John to serve as our next Washington State Insurance Commissioner, he would not only thrive but will excel as an incumbent in the position.
